Questions...

Question of the day - what is the conceptual difference between angel food cake pan and bundt pan? I think I want to (to ruin) PW's recipe of the Pop Pound Cake and I only have the angel food pan...

Today I tried to make a soup. I wanted something warm, but not thick, something satisfying but not too heavy. No pics, but the recipe involved roasted carrots and sauteed onions, baked potato, a little roasted bacon and a lot of red kidney beans. Surprisingly enough the soup came out pretty decent, probably because I used chicken stock and added some fresh tomato in there for a bit of a fresh taste.

Now to feel accomplished I just need to get my behind off the sofa and go fold laundry. And make sandwiches. And cook some more... Ugh... Being a good mom is a hard job, did you know that?

  1. A bundt pan is seamless. An angel food cake pan may leak around the middle if the batter is too runny/buttery (as it did for me when I improvised monkey bread it in before buying my bundt pan!). A bundt pan is also a lot shallower and has rounded sides and bottom rather than flat. Not sure if it would matter in the recipe you posted. It doesn't look like it would make much of a difference, other than in presentation... If you decide to go ahead and make it in your angel food cake pan, just put a cookie sheet or something under it to catch any leaks!

I need to fold laundry too. One of my least favorite chores...

  2. Thank you Cat! Well... Since I'm not sure when I'll be around a decent cookware might as well try that recipe with the cookie sheet under it. And Ellp had a thread recently on TBW about a fire caused by monkey bread - hope your experiment was more successful :)
